徳川家康（Ieyasu Tokugawa）小豆餅他
こんにちは、りつです。このヘッポコHPで、歴史と英語をミックスしちゃおう！と思い、執筆してます。英語力向上だけでなく、歴史認識力も高めたいからです。第1回は、徳川家康です。ちなみに英文は稚拙ですのでご容赦願いたいです。
小豆餅、銭取の由来（静岡県浜松市）
Ieyasu Tokugawa（徳川家康）, future shogun retrearted from Shingen Takeda（武田信玄）’s troops. On the way home, Hamamatsu Castle, He dropped by an azukimochi (sweet red bean rice-cake) shop and bought an azukimochi. This place originated in the current “Azukimochi（小豆餅）” town, Hamamatsu City. After that, the owner of the azukimochi shop old woman, chased Ieyasu as she regained the azukimochi’s prices. This place originated in the current bus stop named “Zenitori（銭取）.” Finally, Ieyasu arrived at his Hamamatsu Castle. As soon as he arrived, he ate “yuzuke（湯漬け）”, rice in the hot water, and he passed out. Ieyasu commanded the opening of the gate of Hamamatsu Castle. So, Takeda’s general, Masakage Yamagata（山県昌景）, fell suspicious about opening the gate and couldn’t enter the Hamamatsu Castle. Some called the strategy “Kujo-no-kei（空城の計）.”
なんとなく伝わりますかね
このような伝承が残っています。また、この時の戦い”三方ヶ原の戦い”にちなみ、現地の小学校の騎馬戦では紅組を武田軍と白組を徳川軍とみなして開催されていたようです。

In this essay, I will tell you two interesting stories related to his legends.
In Shizuoka prefecture, there is a town called “Azukimochi”, which means red beans mochi in Japanese. It is not common that a town is named after Japanese traditional sweets because most towns and cities are typically named based on characteristic scenery of the area, such as mountains and rivers. However, Azukimochi town has an amazing history.
In 16th century, Ieyasu was known to spend his time in Shizuoka and Hamamatsu castle was his base. After a defeat in a battle against Takeda Shingen(The Mikatagahara Battle), retreating to Hamamatsu castle, Ieyasu found a sweets shop to eat Azukimochi. However, he left the shop without paying for the mochi as Takeda’s troop was chasing after him. Of course, not just Takeda, the old woman who was the owner of the shop ran to Ieyasu to have him pay for the mochi. She caught up to Ieyasu at the bus stop and managed to get money from him.
This story became so famous that the town where the sweets shop is called Azukimochi and the bus stop is named as “Zenitori,” meaning money taking (Zeni is “money” or “coin” and “tori” is “take” in Japanese).

その後、現地バレエ団や劇場にてシアターマネジメントのインターンを行う。
日本帰国後も独学で英語学習を続け、英検1級に合格しTOEIC 970点を取る。
英語講師と翻訳派遣を経験したのちに、海外旅行保険をもつ海外渡航者への医療アシストを行う会社へ就職。英語を使いながら各国のエージェントやクライアントと接しながら、ビジネス英語を学ぶ。
現在は、「どんなレベルの学習者にでも分かりやすい英語指導」を掲げながら、翻訳・英語コーチング・英作文添削・英会話講師・英語ガイドなど、1つの職種にとらわれない働き方を模索しながら、日々英語のプロになるための準備を進める。

まとめ
当時の背景を少し加えます。当時、織田信長は、信長包囲網の中で勢力を拡大しようとしている最中でした。信長と同盟していた徳川家康は、三河（愛知県東南部）と遠江（静岡県西部）を所領し、更に静岡東部を目指していました。そんな中、甲斐・信濃などの実力者・武田信玄は、京に向かい西へ進軍中、織田・徳川連合軍とぶつかるのです。家康には信長の援軍がありましたが、信長も他勢力との戦いで多勢を援軍として送る余力がなかった時に、家康は三方ヶ原の戦いで信玄と対峙しなければいけなかったのです。家康の中で大敗を喫することになったわけですが、家康はこの大敗の中で武田の軍制を取り入れたそうです。信玄は家康に勝ったものの、その後、三河で進軍中、病で亡くなりました。また現在、正月に飾られる門松は、竹が斜めに切られていますが、家康が「次に会ったら武（竹）田を斬る」という意味合いが込められ斜めに切られているとも伝えられています。
